Black Tambourine

If you know me in real life or if you knew me 20+ years ago... well, you know how much I love bands like Black Tambourine. Black Tambourine will finally reunite this spring after 21 years of inactivity!! The band will play a small number of shows to celebrate the 20th anniversary of 1990s indie pop zine Chickfactor, co-founded by the band's singer, Pam Berry. I LOVED Black Tambourine back in the day when I was a young indie rocker working at record stores. Sadly, I will not get to see them on this tour since it does not look like a Chigago show is going to happen.

living room

Got motivated to move the furniture around in the living room this weekend. This is the only place the couch has never been before and this arrangement is the first one that really separates the living and dining areas... well as much as they can be separated in my little house. I like it. The orange chair is back by the windows and Lottie greatly approves of that. She loves her orange chair. The black owl has migrated from the bedroom to the this room and I'm still playing around with the rest of the small stuff. I want some new tillansias and I NEED a magazine rack. Having a bit of regret for not buying an amazing rack I saw back in 2010. We had a nice Friday night sitting around a warm fire. The firewood Mark bought was almost to pretty to burn...almost.

sugar bowl

Got a little post-birthday surprise last week... the sugar bowl that goes with my vintage Rosenthal china. Thank you Mark!! We have the Conference pattern designed by Raymond Loewy. What didn't Raymond Loewy design? His Palm Springs home I suppose was one thing. He let Albert Frey take care of that one.

here's looking at 42

Thanks to everyone that made my old age seem not so bad. Flowers and cupcakes and beer and great friends are wonderful things.
