Craft Beer Advent Calendar

Nothing says the Holidays like a box of beer!  I surprised Mark with my Craft Beer Advent Calendar last night and needless to say, he thought it was amazing.  Without even planning, I chose 24 beers from Chicago-Indiana brewers... 3 Floyds, Revolution, Byway, and 18th Street.  Yeah there's a Lagunitas beer in there too but they DO have a Chicago location so I suppose it works.  What could be better than selecting a beer from this box every day until Christmas??  I have a plan for a wooden, more designed version of this for future years.  I'll keep you posted!

brew dogs

My two favorite things... dogs and beer! Lagunitas brews some mighty fine beer and they have the best bottle cap ever. One of these days I'll get a Lagunitas hoodie for Minnow. Why not.

trippel

As an immediate fan of this beer's beautiful label, I was not disappointed by the drinkabilty of New Belgium's Trippel.  It's a nice change from the Three Floyds and Southern Tier beers we always seem to have on hand.  I will rate it a 4 out of 5.

Here are the beer geeky facts from New Belgium...

This Trippel Belgian Style Ale opens with a bold blast of hops that slowly gives way to the fruity esters implied by our Belgian yeast strain. In the Belgian tradition of brewing singles, doubles and triples, Trippel is the strongest with the longest fermentation. Remarkably smooth and complex, our bottle-conditioned Trippel is spiced with a trace of coriander.

arctic panzer wolf

Coming off another fun weekend with LBK, this time she made the trip up to my neck of the woods. After a few beers and some food at the Three Floyds Brew Pub, we thought we should keep the fancy beer party rolling with some take-homes from the Brewery. One of the best beers of the night was also the one with the most rediculous name... Arctic Panzer Wolf.

It was a super tasty IPA and is probably a limited release so I should hurry and get more. Although I am not in a hurry to feel like I did yesterday morning!!

LBK... on our next visit we will knit. More crafting, less drinking!
