We bought our sun tea jar at Target a few years ago and it was worth every penny (I think it was about $25 bucks). I thought it was pretty perfect until recently when I spotted a few good looking tea makers. I'll start by saying we never use the spigot. After brewing, we put the tea into a large pitcher that is much easier to pour into a glass from the fridge. Most spigots end up making a drippy, leaky mess in the fridge. Plus that jar is so heavy that Mark has to be in charge of making the sun tea. I cannot lift it when it's full yet alone pour the contents out into the pitcher.


BIASCA Iced Tea Jug by BODUM ($39.95). Place a desired amount of tea leaves in the jug and fill it with cold water. Let it steep over night. Add ice cubes and sugar, as desired, the next day. The BIASCA features a filter that is integrated into the lid designed to keep the tea leaves in the jug when pouring tea.

Hello fellow Zone 5-ers! These are a few of my favorite NO FUSS annuals. They're not the most exciting flowers however they are the ones I buy every year because I know exactly what to expect. White Supertunias? Really?? Yes! If you dress them up in a potted arrangement with sedum and some grass...they can work. Not in an incredibly interesting way but you will get a LOT of flowers. I also buy a lot of Purslane. White, orange, sometimes even hot pink. It's always available at Home Depot and Lowes and for a bargain price. I usually have to hit a nicer garden center to get my Cerveza n' Lime and Mezoo although Lowes had Mezoo one year. And Superbells...a small petunia hybrid...will give you a whole summer's worth of blooms and is my choice for hanging baskets.
