we made it! five happy years!!

For every 50 pictures taken at your wedding, one turns out. I just looked through all the rejects today and laughed my ass off. Does anyone look good eating cake? I couldn't stop laughing during the photo session since Mark kept making funny faces and the thought of serious pictures just seemed impossible. Captured moment... the shot during the ceremony where I could not get Mark's ring to slide over his hot and swollen knuckle. I eventually gave up and he had to shove it on. Nobody prepares you for that! The ring is supposed to fit. At least that's what happens in the movies.

For all you brides and grooms to be...I hope you have as much fun as we did on our big day!

den update: bookcaes- tv - wood chair - rug

It's official. I no longer have a TV in my dining room. You see, dreams can come true! New in the den is a $29 rug from HOBO that is a nice greyish brown and also super flat and sort of felt-like. Old stuff that has always been in that room include antique barrister bookcases and a wood chair that once belonged to one of Mark's relatives. Would you call that a captain's chair? I don't know. It's not like anything else in our house and Mark will not let me paint it. I suppose this room could now be called eclectic? Onto other challenges...I'm trying to find the right things to display in those bookcases along with our photo albums and books. It's not a pretty sight at the moment. And there's an equally unorganized matching bookcase on the other side of that wood chair.

Just look at the Vintage Cabin's nice barrister cases...

I love how the quilts and blankets look in there. Thanks to the Vintage Cabin for the inspiration. I might have to steal your look!

did it work?

A little update on my post about iced tea...

I bought the square jar from the Crate and Barrel Outlet and it IS the perfect sun tea jar for me. When it arrived it looked really small but trust me it holds just over a half gallon. The spout works and I'm not having any issues with the handle being too small as one person stated in a review. At $10.95, I would suggest it to anyone looking to make some sun tea.
