I saved a bird today

I saw this young bird fall into our pool today so I ran across the yard to save it. It had started to drift into the filter and only the tip of its tail was sticking out...so I grabbed it! I've never touched a wild bird with my bare hands before! Once it dried off it hopped away and seems fine. I'm not sure if it's old enough to fly yet. I've been checking on it throughout the day and it has been hopping around like a champ.
